Clann ZĂș - One Bedroom Apartment
This has been the hardest transcription so far. It's probably because the piano is the most prominent instrument used throughout. What makes me really proud of this one are the strings though. I've used stem splitters, but I've still had to spend a lot of time to get the arrangements for violin, viola and the cello correct.
Transcribing this one also made me aware of how useful formal music theory education is; specifically: arrangement skills. Someone well versed in it would probably transcribe this very easily. After I was done working out each of the string parts individually, I noticed that all of them played together make up actual chords. I guess that's what they call voice leading.
The song is made up from 3 sections. The first one is in 4/4, but the other ones are in a more complicated meter. My first transcription was in 5/4, but I ran into some issues where it start to look pretty convoluted. After consulting people on the internet, I was made aware that 5/8 would be a better choice. So, I had to redo the whole transcription because Guitar Pro doesn't offer an easy way to adjust and shift every bar after changing the time signature.
There are still plenty of parts where I'm not 100% sure what's being played. The guitar part start at bar 81. It's just a wall of sound, I can't make out what they played specifically. Just turn the distortion and reverb on and go wild. The guitar part around bar 201: I decided to just follow the bass-line. The guitar part starting around bar 209: I guess that it's just regular guitar feedback, with D as the root note. Obviously, I'm also not completely certain of the string arrangement. As always, corrections are welcome in the comments.
